Reduction of Glass Bottles: Wallmans recognizes the importance of reducing glass bottles, which require extensive cooling storage and carrying by staff. Starting in August, we will use locally reused glass bottles for serving both still and sparkling water, contributing to waste reduction.
Reduction of Carbon Footprint: The production and transportation of glass bottles generate significant greenhouse gas emissions. By replacing long-haul glass bottles with locally filtered water, Wallmans reduces its carbon footprint. We choose local filtering to eliminate the need for long-distance water bottle transportation, thereby reducing distribution-related emissions.
Sustainable Restaurant Industry: Wallmans’ choice of filtered water helps create a more sustainable restaurant industry. This can inspire other players to consider similar measures. By implementing sustainable practices, restaurants can reduce their environmental impact and conserve natural resources for future generations.
Wallmans has also decided to donate 10% of all water revenue to a charitable cause related to water. We have chosen to support health, water, and sanitation projects managed by the Norwegian Red Cross. The goal is to raise as much money as possible to support the Red Cross' humanitarian efforts to provide people with better access to health, clean water, and hygiene information in various parts of the world.
